This matte silver frame is the trim bezel of a center console assembly. Three openings live in one part — two rounded-rectangle windows for switch pods or vents, and a circular collar in the middle that carries a knob or a cup holder ring — and the frame bridges them with shaped arms so the whole thing installs as one piece instead of three separate trims.
The finish is satin silver, not chrome: a low-gloss metallic look specified for interiors that avoid glare. The base part is injection molded, finished, and fitted with an integrated buckle structure. This page covers the multi-opening geometry, the satin finish, the buckles, and what we need before quoting.

A frame with several large openings is a flow puzzle. The plastic has to fill three separate wall loops and the arms between them from the same injection, and every path around a hole is a flow split that rejoins somewhere — each rejoin is a candidate weld line, and a weld line on a visible satin face reads as a dull streak. The gate layout is chosen so the rejoining happens on the back face or under the arms, not on the A-surfaces, and the first-article check includes a raking-light pass over every visible face.
The arms also carry structure. They are I-beamed in section — a top skin, a bottom skin, rib walls between — so the frame resists twisting in the panel despite the openings that cut it up.

The matte metallic finish is a paint system over the molding, cured before the buckles are trimmed and checked. Matte is less forgiving than gloss in one way and more forgiving in another: it hides swirl and micro-sink, but it shows any gloss variation as a patch, so the paint film build is controlled in a narrower band and the parts are inspected under diffused light for sheen steps between faces.
The finish also has to survive the console environment — sunscreen through the windshield, fingers, cleaning agents. The paint is specified with those tests, and a cured, finished sample goes to the customer for sign-off before the batch runs.

The frame clips into the console with integrated buckles — flexible hooks molded into the back face, each engaging a slot in the carrier. No screws, no separate fasteners, and no hardware for the assembly line to drop. The buckle positions follow the same logic as any clip array: concentrated where the frame spans the widest opening, because that is where it flexes. Engagement depth is set by the carrier’s real slot, measured on parts.
The trade is serviceability. Clips cycle a limited number of times, so if the console is expected to open in service, the wear points are thickened and the release access is designed in from the start — a decision that has to be made before the tool is cut, not after.

Kunshan Maifeng Precision Industry Co., Ltd. molds and finishes console trim frames like this one in house — multi-cavity tooling, painting and fitting trials on customer carriers, on machines from 90 to 700 tons. Send us the carrier drawing and the opening schedule, and we will come back with a gate and buckle proposal with the quotation.
